I don't know if the penguins or many teams for that matter will give up their 2021 1st round pick.
It's the best chance they have to make moves to dump cap etc with Seattle and they may need that capital to do that.

I agree though it would take a deal like that to get Rakell.
I don't think ANA wants to or should trade him.

If the pick in the Kase deal is a 2021 second, then Lind and the pick are a poor trade for him. Baertschi is a minus and would go straight to San Diego, so we should get some compensation for taking him off Vancouver's hands; we'd rather play Comtois there in any event.

The Manson trade makes no sense unless Barrie is committed to a new contract. The only reason why Johnsson is valuable is because you've traded Rakell away. If you must do that then Johnsson, Barrie and a 2020 second (skip the window dressing) is a better idea.

Leafs can't trade a 2nd cause Leafs don't have any.

Tyson Barrie wants $8 million per year for 7 years or so, No way Bob Murray is taking Barrie in any deal for Josh Manson. Anything short of Timothy Liljegren going the other way to Anaheim.

More like Bob Murray laugh and hangs up on Dubas, Barrie is the only decent piece the rest are crap. Johnsson is nothing special Bracco is a career AHLer and nothing more the picks are garbage at best

I don't think Barrie is a fit in this deal, but Toronto is not going to move Liljegren. He's too important to them and they have invested so much in him. So Anaheim fans can feel that way, but it's unlikely to happen. The reality is, with how noncompetitive Anaheim is right now, Manson is likely being moved in the next 12 months. His value is highest now. The Ducks need to think about what kind of package he can fetch and maybe they flip some of those assets later on. Almost all trade values on here are wrong because fans tend to overvalue their own players. GM's don't, they understand the business and what assets can do for you.

Honestly I think Toronto and Colorado being competitive so fast after "tanking" has skewed everyone's perception of how fast rebuilds happen. Teams like Ottawa and New York are closer to being finished their rebuilds then Anaheim is, who kind of seems to straddling the line of, "not good enough to win, not bad enough to truly rebuild." Anaheim needs futures and assets, Josh Manson is neither. Therefore, no matter how great a player he is, they should at least look at dealing him. Same with Kase, Rakell, Lindholm and anybody else who can get them what they need.

Barrie has looked great since Keefe was hired. Back to his usual self. Hes a 60 point D man. You don't just forget how to do that. Lol

Johnsson is a stud of a winger. Plays PP and PK and a top 6 forward on an offensive team like the Leafs.

Bracco is completely offensive forward but he'll get a shot in the NHL with the Leafs with Keefe. I'm really excited for him.

Duszak is special. I watched him live recently and his vision is incredible. His defensive game could use a little work but he's playing on the PP and PK.

I'm not saying they're stars but to say that any let alone all those pieces aren't special is close minded.

Sure. I'm sure that Dubas takes a deal for a top 4 D where he gives up a cost controlled winger that plays pp and PK on a cap stripped team, a D that is 2 mill that is a PP specialist defenceman on a team that really needs it especially with Rielly out long term potentially. And 2 VERY special pieces in Bracco and Duszak. Yes I'm sure he's jumping at that trade. Lol

Nope. Does nothing for us. Make it Liljegren + KK + 2nd and we'll think about moving Manson, but most likely still say "no".

AJ, KK and Rasanen is best I'd do. Lily isn't going anywhere. And we don't have a 2nd till 2022 now.

I... honestly can't tell you if you're being serious or not. Barrie is an expiring UFA who the Leafs won't resign and has not played well for them. He's almost addition by subtraction. Johnsson is a good middle-6 winger. Bracco and Duszak are unlikely to become NHLers. You must be joking right? That's a horrible return for Manson.

Barrie has played really well since Keefe took over. He has had 1 bad game since. He wasn't being used properly under Babcock.

Bracco will be. Duszak should be by next year. Especially on a team like the Ducks.

I disagree that Barrie has had one bad game. He's a very good defenceman when the puck is on his stick. He is not great almost all the rest of the time. That is not a great mixture for success in the NHL. Your eye test can tell you one thing, but the numbers and everyone else are saying different.

Bracco might make the NHL, but the likelihood keeps shrinking. He would likely benefit from a change of scenery but to be effective he needs to play with some good finishers and need sheltered minutes. Not every team can provide that. Are you sure you're talking about Joseph Duszak? He's played in the ECHL most of this season. He has looked good in the AHL, but is very small and definitely needs to refine his game. He might be a third pairing guy in the NHL. For you to suggest that will be next season is, well, optimistic.

I would love for the Leafs to make this trade, but there's very little reason for the Ducks to.
