Description

**DISCLAIMER** I am not a Redwings fan, but I do empathize with their situation.

Yzerman being the mastermind he is, he most likely already has a plan. It might not be this, but it's a fun exercise to think about how many options he's got (in terms of rebuild style).

Let's hope Detroit will bounce back from the Holland years of bad decisions and playoff streak unforgiveness.

flames and canucks trades are fine in terms of value.

Nielsen has negative value and definitely won't be getting one of Nashville's best rookies. You're paying to move Nielsen... his days are far gone.

Fabbro is Nashville's best, young, cost-controlled defenceman. He's massively important to their future. What possible reason would they have to take on a much older, more expensive, less talented player, who wouldn't even have a spot in their lineup?

I agree but I'm not sure Filppula gets traded. Yzerman signed him for 2 years maybe he gets traded if Veleno or Rasmussen were ready now but since they aren't I think Filppula spends 1 more year in Detroit and retires as a Red Wing.

Even when Ellis is back in the lineup, Fabbro fills a much bigger need than AA could for NSH. Poile wouldn't even consider it.

The problem with Yzerman’s UFA’s ... they are well past their prime and won’t bring back a lot of value, but Yzerman can stockpile (4th or 5th picks) and move up. One thing he has been known to do is to get somebody and then flip that player for a pick.

It does suck and due to injuries he made 4 trades after the season had started too keep up with the injuries. STL asked for DLR because of their injuries so we got got Fabbri and that is the 1 that worked out well for Detroit.

It is Yzerman’s 1st year with a mess. In Tampa, he had players with value he moved. It is basically from the ground up in Detroit. Don’t expect a miracle soon. Don’t be shock if he is force to move a player from his core. I expect him to be active on waiver wire at the TDL.

Fabbri played with Bertuzzi for 3 season Guelph and that helps. Yeah AA probably gets this season or next season.
