Sabres need a center, why would they trade cozens?

Even though we need a 2C,
that would be tough to say no to

We need a 2C a 3C, a 4C, 5C, 6C, and 10C.

JK....But yes, we need centermen more than anything right now. We are currently forcing a winger (MoJo) to be the second line center right now which not his best position and there is a huge drop off after Eichel.

The Sabres need Casey Mittelstadt or Dylan Cozens to take off in the next two years to ever make it back it to the postseason, and top six centres may be the hardest to acquire. It also should be noted that Artuu Ruotsalinen is the real deal and he will be in the mix as well. I would not be trading any of them.

I'd go as far to say that if we had a legit second line center, we'd be in a better position and closer ...maybe in the playoff picture....but the problem with the Sabres is everything after Eichel is fringe in terms of offense

Gaudreau would sure help with that offense, wouldn’t he?
I still have faith in Mitts
But if he doesn’t work out, maybe Routsalainen is that guy?
Or maybe Davidsson?
Or maybe we can sign or trade for a 2C

No guarantee that Cozens will work out either

Interesting that you mention ruotsalainen. I just saw a sabres prospect list that had him 6th, behind cozens, upl, asplund and a couple d. Its nice to see him progress, but he probably needs a year in the ahl first. Hes listed at 5'8" which means he is probably even shorter, hes gonna need to prove some stuff here. And being behind asplund is not great, asplund seems like a solid bottom 6 guy, but there is absolutely no offense.

You dont need top flight centers when you have great wingers.
