Edmonton agrees. I'm not sold on trading Larsson before the playoffs but in aggregate these two trades make Edmonton much better.

Well done!

Of course Edmonton agrees, because it's an absolutely awful trade from the Leafs perspective. And the 2nd one won't happen, because the Arizona trade won't happen. Kapanen for Larsson is a huge loss for the Leafs.

Ya your right... the armchair format didn't allow a three-way deal, therefore, all the deals between the EDM-TOR-ARI were all meant for one deal, meaning if you picking apart each deal separately it won't make much sense!

Acutely yes EDM get much better... However, no chance in hell Barrie signs so he is purely a rental, and it is a big gamble goaltending wise losing Smith. Next year's team won't be as strong ... to be honest, the hockey world deserves to see more McDavid and the playoffs is the stage. Go Leafs Go!

Crazy Fun eh! Fun-Fact: Mitch Marner's last Junior year where he won nearly every piece of hardware available and the Memorial Cup. Who was his center?

Okay. As a 3-way deal it's still terrible for the Leafs, so there's that.

They can't afford it anyway with Keller's extension kicking in next season.

I don't mind taking Barrie as a pure rental and then not signing him - Oilers have Bouchard coming up next year so they don't really need Barrie going forward. Especially if he gets overpaid in free agency... he'll be 29 this summer, let someone else pay him for his declining years. Kapanen and Chychrun are the keepers.

Recalling who Marner's Center was in his record setting Last season of Juniors. Gamble yes but I watch them play together and they work!

So much money comes of the book next season signing Keller won't be an issue... Besides wingers are a dime a dozen, and honestly free agents will undercut themselves to play on this team.

Doughty still have 5 great years left too.

Because they were good junior teammates does not mean Toronto should trade Auston Matthews for him. TBH, Matthews and Marner have now been together on the Leafs longer then Dvorak and Marner were on the Knights together. Trading away Matthews is monumentally stupid. Keller is already signed to 7 mil plus and Doughty is way too expensive. Larsson is also still trash. This team is worse after all your deals.

In your eye! I see Matthews as a give a crap player who doesn't every game. Winners don't check out and Matthews no-shows way to often. I'm good with trading that away.

Keep your stick on the ice!

Agreed... If I thought the deal could get done without Kappy I would rather it... Just don't know it works.
