Montreal is not going anywhere this makes them more talented, faster and younger. But I can't even begin to say how much I don't like it. Weber's contract is way too risky.

no it really doesn't...Domi is 1 year older* than Nylander, Danault is 1 year older* than Kerfoot (and better), Weber will age like Chara as speed was never his game and we already have dmen similar caliber as Dermott...then we give up a pick that will likely be a top 40 and one in the high 60s

That is all wrong, Nylander is younger than Domi, Kerfoot a year younger than Danault, and Dermott is going to be better than Weber very soon and also way less money.

This is total nonsense by shuffling the Leafs current roster to trade away 8 current players when the team is one of the hottest teams in the NHL the last month.

Note
Would be interested in Lauden's comments on these trades because of his postive energy and somewhat warped perspective he will bring to the discussion. Does someone know how to reach out to him.

Nylander is better than any player they currently have if in case you didnt know he is and has been a natural center until joining the leafs...he is clearly what Montreal needs. Domi is getting big minutes on a crappy team hes a 3rd line winger on a good team, a solid 3rd liner. Danault is better than kerfoot and less money.

Domi and Nylander a wash? Are you ok? they are not even close to a wash. Nylander becomes a clear #1 center for Montreal, Domi is a good 3rd liner on a good team. Dermott is a great young D man that we cant pay this summer off RFA.

Don't know why you think the Leafs couldn't be Boston or Tampa. Take the last playoffs, it took a game 7 for the Bruins to beat the Leafs, so it's not like the Leafs were dominated. Probably a 50% chance of winning. I would certainly argue that Babcock cost the Leafs the first series against Boston. Now with competent NHL coaching, the Leafs should be better.

Those trades? Really swing from being one sided from the Leafs to other teams. My favourite (the worse), Barrie is is the Leafs worse Dman and is on an expiring contract gets Benning and Oilers first rounder....a likely lottery pick

Weber's contract is actually no risk at all and even less with retained salary. Nashville is on the hook if he retires not the Leafs and now that he is healthy he very likley will be great if not effective until 40 at a cap hit uner 5mill is a perfect partner for reilly.

IF he retires there is no harm done. If he doesn't retire, the team who has him has his cap hit

There is very little chance we beat either Boston or Tampa with our current defense. Its also likely we play both of them in the first 2 rounds. Tyson Barrie while gifted is a nightmare in his zone and will get eaten up by both teams down low. Regular season means nothing build for a cup run and that means build a team that can beat both Boston and Tampa or be 1 and done again.

So in 3-4 years you don't think he has value at $5mill with a cap of over 90 Million even if he becomes a #4 shutdown guy? Do you have a Veteran RD at under 5million cap better than weber?

You get a #1 center? and you build for the future your team sucks clearly Weber, Price and Petry have to be traded for assets now if you want to get better.

I would trade danault alone for nylander. Nylander have been playing with futur hall of famer center in matthews and tavares. Last year he was use with marginal players and everybody know what happen. So again domi have 5 les point this year but have been playing with cousins, lehkonen, weal, armia and suzuki. Doesn’t seem to mee that nylander is better since last year he played with those kind of winger and completely blow it. Danault is 10 time as more useful then either nylander or kerfoot. He will be nominate again this year for the selke.

It's highly unlikely Weber remains good for long. He's going to decline and he won't be worth his roster spot before too long.
