Would you trade Nylander for that package? Domi is coming off a 70 point season is on a steal of a contract and plays a Tkachuk like game.

He is rfa and will want big money next season. Came off a 70+ point season back to what he really is. Which is still a good player but not as skilled as nylander.

The trade value is more that fair but with a second over a year away and a 1st more than two I don’t see the Habs jumping on this. Not that they are looking to move domi anyway.

Not sure if Leafs can afford Domi when they already have Tavares, Matthew, Marner and Nylander in forward core group and Reilly in defence core group.

Hes still on pace for 60 points though and Nylander is on pace for 69 points on a much more front loaded team. Im not by any means undermining Nylanders ability to play or saying hes bad but am saying Domi really isn't that far off him as he brings more than just possession skill to the game.

And what he would be ?? He will get 65 point this year. Nylander have produce this year but to say that he is more skilled is pure speculation. You know who where domi winger for most of the season? Nylander is a good players but when you play with tavares or matthews you will get point. Kyle okposo and Matt Moulson made a career because they played with tavares. AND i have said that Nylander was a good players read carefully but the fact that he is playing with all these elite players impact is stats. You must analyze the players and the context. Domi have only 5 point less than nylander this year but with lehkonen, armia, suzuki, weal, cousins where meanly is winger so before saying that nylander is superior ask you how nylander would perform with players like that on is line. The answer last year he was use with third line players and how much of a impact he had ??? Merci revenez nous voir

Those 2 players are same talent level with domi having an edge to his game. That is not worth a 1st and 2nd.

What it all comes down to is what is Montreal doing? The package proposed is fair value for Domi as an unsigned RFA. If Montreal was to sign him to a 7x6 contract his trade value will go up if he keeps getting 60/70 pts. If they do not feel he is a centerpiece to build around and they have decided we are rebuilding then moving him would make sense, they'd obviously shop him and they would several offers of the same caliber to chose from - very slim chance they'd choose TO to do business with.

So montreal get a older player in johnsson ( good players without any wow) a late first round pick maybe 25 + overall and a late 55+ overall pick and you think that this is fair value. Everyone know that if domi is traded there will be a extension coming with it. That package is just terrible there absolutely nonchance that Montreal trade him for that. 0 chance.

All I was saying is if Montreal shopped Domi as an unsigned RFA pretty much all 30 teams would propose a similar package. And I doubt they'd send him to TO. But value IMO for Domi an unsigned RFA is about what was proposed a 5-8 F + a 1st and a 2nd

But he will get a extension with the team who acquire him no mather what. There not a team who will acquire domi just to gave him a 2 year deal so he could hit the market after that. If the leaf have traded marner before the season the value would have been the same with a contract or without since you buy the players right. Here the fact that domi isn’t sign doesn’t change is value. We are not talking about a rental players.
