Quoting: Sebybbq
Inknow a lot about the king. They are a old roster whom doesn’t skate well. The just started a few season ago to built a prospect farm pool. They have good players that are p’aying in ahl and in europe but no one who is nhl ready. The king already have kopitar, quick, doughty, brown who will likely be part of the rebuilt. The kings need fresh leg. So trading clifford for a nice return is exactly what the king need
The roster is as follows:
Iafallo Kopitar Brown
Carter Prokhorkin Frk
Kempe Amadio Luff
Clifford Lizotte Wagner
Roy Doughty
Clague Walker
Hutton MacDermid
Toffoli, Martinez, Lewis, Grundstrom, Ryan, Campbell, and Quick. (Not necessarily in that order)
Only 6 of those players are old or slow or both. Quick is back to his usual self and playing great. Kopitar is getting older but currently doing better than many young stars in the NHL.
Most of those young players aren't even ready and barely hanging on to a roster spot. Most of those kids only have a spot because there isn't a better player fighting for it yet. Kings don't need to trade Clifford for any return. Toffoli and Lewis will be traded. They have the 2nd best prospect pool in the league. They just need to focus on the development of players like Vilardi, Turcotte, Kaliyev, Kupari, JAD, Clague ect. Kings aren't trading away picks so more high end prospects will pour in on their own. Kings already have the pipeline. Now they need to focus on turning these kids into NHL players.
