pairing Schultz with JJ is a disaster in the making.
Schultz is not strong in his own end at all, and JJ while he has played really well this year, is not strong enough to carry Schultz puttzing around in his own end.
Schultz of all the defense men on the team needs to be hidden in the offensive zone. A. he can be effective there, and B. it really hides him being in the Dzone.
But you don't really want JJ there. He's better in his own end when he doesn't have to skate all over the ice. Due to the fact that he tends to wander all over the ice if he doesn't really have the structure he needs. Between him and Schultz on the ice, those are the last two guys you want playing defense if the puck comes back the other way 200 feet.
I think Sully has basically all but said Galchenyuk is going to the 4th line. Sully doesn't like him. He's already made up his mind on that. The guy has a shot. I will give him that. He just has no aim with it.
