If the Avalanche added zucker they would be favorites to win the cup next season. He’s very underrated - I want the isles to trade for him

Think Zucker doesn't waive to go to a rival team?

He only has a 10 team NTC. I think every Canadian team is on it, but not sure about Central teams. The big thing for him is that his wife won't be able to move with him if he's traded (she has a daughter from a previous relationship), so my guess is he'd want to be as close to MN as possible so he can see his family. Actually, he might be happy to go to Colorado since they play the Wild so often.

That's interesting. Chicago or Winnipeg would probably be the places for him if he we're to leave then. At least those flights aren't as long if the family wants to come stay for the weekend.

Probably, but if Colorado isn't on his list he really doesn't have a choice. Also, he's from Vegas and he has family there so Colorado would be more towards that direction. And he went to Denver University... I guess my point is that I wouldn't be surprised if either Colorado isn't on his list, or his willing to waive to go there if it is. He'd certainly have a much better shot at a Cup there than he would here.

I'd be down, would you say that's fair value? Kammy, Mutala and a protected 1st?

he wouldnt have to waive - its just a 10 team no trade list not a full NTC.

I know Zucker played here in college so I just assumed COL wouldnt be on his 10 team list, although obviously thats just a guess

Also, how strong of a playoff team are we with 2 rookie Dmen. Maybe we should keep Cole?

fair point. I was just thinking that Byram should make the jump to the NHL next year since he doesnt really have anything left to prove in the WHL. Timmins was solid in his 2 NHL games and seems to be doing well in the AHL (I havent watched him in the AHL but im just basing it off of his stats) so I think he would be ready for full time NHL mins next year

It wouldnt hurt to keep Cole and have 7-8 NHL D men, especially since the Avs have almost 10M in cap space in this scenario

I don't know much about Mutala nor Kamenev. I like the 1st, but I think if we're trading for firsts they have to be for this year. Our owner has never wanted to rebuild, so I'd imagine he wouldn't be too keen on giving up Zucker for a player we wouldn't see for potentially 4-6 years (if the pick is a 2022 pick).

That's fair, well Mutala was just drafted this year, a 5th rounder but he's leading his WHL team in scoring averaging over a point per game. Maybe you'd want someone further along. Kamenev is definitely an NHL ready rookie. He was held back by injuries but had a good progression in Nashville's system and then we got him in the Duchene trade. He has some decent skill and is projecting to be a 2nd line skilled/skating centre with a little bit of two way upside. I wouldn't mind giving up the 2020 1st rounder unless the Avs had a terrible fall from grace and were sitting at 7th overall at the draft (which is when I am assuming this trade would be made).

    How about this:
2020 1st rounder, Kamenev, Nick Henry (Similar to Mutala, 4th round pick, produced well in the WHL and now in his first year in the AHL as a 20 year old, so further along in development)

If I know the CHL rules alright, I think we could run it with Byram in the NHL and Timmins in the A until Jan 1st when Byram would be eligible to be able to play in the A. I think you can start playing there on Jan 1st of the year you turn 20 or if you've played for 4 chl seasons. I am not the most clear on that

I'd be happy with that trade. Colorado could top 10 protect the pick just in case and I'd still be fine with it!
