not sure if it's really even, Turris is at least producing. Yeah, their years may factor in, but I think I'd rather have Turris currently (even if Lavy is dicking him around)

Yeah, I figured if the contracts were equal length the Preds would definitely keep Turris, but shedding the extra two years of that deal might make it tempting. In 3 years they’ll need to extend Forsberg, Ekholm and Jarnkrok, and Eriksson would be off the books.

You make a good point there - I just feel like if Turris is given offensive linemates to play with he is still a 45-55 point player. If he can prove that this year, then I think the Preds would be able to shed his salary easier with potentially minimal retention. He has 9 points in 19 games right now - if he gets consistent linemates (other than Watson and Sissons) then I think he could hit 50 points. But he is firmly in Laviolette's doghouse right now unfortunately.

I am not sure how I feel about that Tanev trade. I think if this would have been a week ago, I would have said yes but now with Keefe behind the bench. I think Barrie makes more sense. Now if we could work out a Ceci for Tanev trade, I'd be all for it.

why would Vancouver trade tanev for barrie? tanev is the perfect partner for Hughes and he actually plays defense . Barrie does not move the needle offensively enough to risk losing Tanevs defense(especially shot blocking) for a soft dman that cant produce unless he is on the 1st PP unit and he isn't going to get that over Hughes.
as for the Nashville trade not a bad plan for Vancouver I just don't see Nashville taking LOUIE at all. not without a sweetner cause at least Turris can score

The problem with tanev is you can't trust him to be there when you need him. He's just so injury prone.
