Seems a little high to me. He's a 30-ish point 3C... I'd say stay under $4M and maybe just 3 years - don't give term to non-core players. Young defensemen are the exception: I'd like to see Bear get a 5 year, $3M deal.

Using this deal as a template, what would it take? Name a defenseman on the Oilers that would be reasonable value.

Any ehlers trade with EDM is a no go, you guys don’t have what wpg needs. We need a top 4 RHD. Unless you’re willing to give up bear++ or Bouchard++ Then the trade isn’t gonna work. Also I doubt jets even trade ehlers for future players as they’re in win now mode.

Tbh I don’t think he’d fit in the jets top 4, I’d honestly rather have poolman at 775k there than larsson at 4.166 or whatever he is at lol. He’s playing just as well as larsson would. Maybe try JP, Larsson, Yama And a 3rd

Pageau is on pace for a 40+ goal season. He won't keep that up but he will score 30 and he is an excellent all around C. He's getting 4-5M on his next deal for sure.
