This is most definitely not an overpay.

Gaudreau is coming off a 99 point season and has this year plus two more on the books at 6.75M. Flames also don’t need a goalie. This trade makes no sense from Calgary’s perspective at all.

Could not have said it better myself, hes about as available as Kane was in 2011/12 when he was producing at the same rate
