This team is going to suck if we have Boqvist, Beaudin, and Mitchell all in the opening day lineup next year. Keep Murph, pay Strome a bit less.

If we have Murphy then we can’t have Mitchell and Boqvist.

Why would Calgary pay a 2nd to trade away the better player?

We can play Murphy or Mitchell on their off side.

Ive definitely toyed with this idea quite a bit and I really like it. There was a statistical analysis piece about defensemen on their off-hand a while back that I found really interesting and potentially good for the Hawks. It was something like the defensive pairings with two righties (i.e a Mitchell-Murphy pairing) had the highest Corsi percentage out of any other pairing, and I think their play styles would actually fit quite well together. Ive really liked how Murphy has stepped up this season and can definitely see him getting an A if he stays with us for a long while and the upper management decides to give the letters to the younger guys.

I was gonna say, don’t forget that for years hammer and oduya switched between their off sides. Their were such a great pairing and one always had to play on the right at some point as a left hander. Point is, it can be done with Murphy or Mitchell, it’s just a question of who you trust more. Obviously at this point I’d take Murphy on the left based on nhl experience.

Yes sir, dach is doing well, but as I said after the Vegas game, please keep him where he is. Or rather with the players he’s been with. Smith and carpenter work so freakin hard and make things so much easier on Dach, so keep that 4th line a thing. Lastly, run and gun. RUN and GUN!!!! God I love this freakin style of play!!!!!! Everyone looks like they’re working harder and it’s fantastic!!!!!

Only point of criticism, however, I’d really like it if we could do some outshooting soon. Giving up 30+, even with this tandem, every game is gonna take its toll. Then again, they do seem to rotate crow and Lehner in the perfect way.

Would like to see Strome signed to a bridge contract firstly, on less money than Cat. I also tend to agree that moving Murphy to LD and pairing with Mitchell could work really well.

Dach is developing along nicely and getting some gritty matchups, I think he is one of the most hit players in the league currently Obviously being targeted but he is loving every second of it. I hope he becomes better from the experience.
