Demko is looking great, but I don't think he is ready to be a full-time starter yet. Give him this year and maybe part of next as backup before they hand it over.

Who says he’d have yo play 60. I said split. Besides it’s not that big of an issue. Has to be done at some point and it is not done gradually as a rule.

Markstrom is a UFA to be and will likely sign elsewhere. Wanna lose him for nothing or add KK in this deal? Take the pick and use that to get a Craig Anderson/Devin Dubnyk type to split.

They dont have the cap space to add another "starter" like UFA Anderson or Dubnyk and Kapanen

Demko is their Goalie of the future, He is ready to play 50 games this year, All they need to do is find a solid backup for him this season .There are several available. Toronto does not believe in spending on a back up. Also Woll or DiPietro are ones who can back up next year in Van. Markstrom won't resign in Van as he knows he is not in the plans for Van beyond this season. Vancouver has riches in goalies in their system
