Puljujarvi

Description
Trading player situations.

Oilers get an elite shooter in Sprong with great speed and offensive prowess who could allow the Oilers to split up Draisatl and McDavid.

The Ducks get a high-risk/high-reward player in Puljujarvi as Sprong doesn't seem to be in management's good graces.

Is that a bad joke ? Sprong was on waivers early this season, Puljujarvi worth a 2nd round pick but no teams are welling to pay that price

so? just cause he's not playing in NA doesn't mean he's not playing screw your head on mate and he is actually doing very very well in the LIIGA which is a league that is more defensive then the AHL. 11 goals 20 points in 18 games so yeah

I'd be interested in Sprong but we would have gotten him on waivers then

If he was worth a 2nd there would be teams willing to pay it. However, as you said, "no teams are welling to pay that price" which is proof that he is NOT worth a 2nd.

No dice. The Oilers coulda had Sprong for free but they passed - they aren't trading JP for him.

And if I had wheels I would be a bicycle. What the Oilers are supposedly seeking is not his value. What someone is willing to give is his value. Again, as no one is willing to pay the supposed asking price, the asking price is not his value.

That's because of when it happened they would have had to send down players, (the Oilers should have claimed Baertschi, Sprong, Ho-Sang and Goldobin and they would have a better bottom 6 winger situation than they do now.) Puljujarvi isn't going to play for the Oilers, so they might as well get a good prospect while they still can.

Sprong is someone who would play for the Oilers. Puljujarvi never will.

Doesn't matter - they aren't giving up an asset for someone they passed over for free. That's just stupid.

It's rare that anyone claims anyone at that point in the season, they would've lost a player of their own/or at least put them on waivers to pick up Sprong. They probably figured that it was best for their morale not to drop one of their roster players for a new random guy. I think they were wrong to do that because Sprong, Baertschi, and Ho-Sang are all better than 75% of their forwards, but that's what they did. GMs rarely claim players off of waivers, but we've seen players who were on waivers get traded for assets not long after plenty of times.

100% of NHL GM's disagree with you on this point.
