What do you do when you take a bad contract, turn it into a worse one, (Neal for Lucic)? Why not trade good assets for another terrible contract.

I wouldn't trade Turris right now at all. He has looked very good so far this season and appears to be back to his old self. He's been the "3C" and has managed 1G 1A while centering Jarnkrok and Grimaldi. So he's basically having to do it by himself and has looked good doing it. Let him rehabilitate his career some and trade him if we need the capspace down the road which i don't think we'll need. I would rather trade Smith then Turris tbh.

How much longer do you have Smith? You have about 4 players who can play 3C.

He should be able to rehabilitate his career some, but he is more than likely to decline in the coming year or two.

I'd be happy to get Jankowski for him as I strongly suspext Jankowski will be the better player over the next 5 years

Smith is a UFA at the end of the year. With the way Granlund is playing, I imagine we'll try to keep him over smith. We won't have room financially to keep Smith, Granlund, and Josi.

Sure Bonino, Sissons, and Jarnkrok could make a passable 3C.... none of them should be anywhere near the 2C spot should injuries occur to Joey or Duchene. Turris can step up incase of injuries and makes the team overall much deeper. I personally think Jankowski is going to top out around Jarnkrok in terms of production in that 30-40 point range.
