I wouldn't sign Barrie to that deal and I don't think Dermott would take a contract for that term at that aav.
Also if they are going to keep Mik around, he will be good enough to make at least 2M. Anything between 1 and 2 million can be labelled as a "why are you here" type player because their job could be done just as well for cheaper by a younger player.

SDA is the Leafs Bruno Caboclo. Bruno was drafted by the Raptors in 2014 as surprise pick. The draft analyst commented....he's two years from being two years away. Same with SDA, the youngest guy taken in his draft year. Two more years of junior, two years as Marlie. He might be NHL ready 2022/23. Somewhat the same with Robertson. A few years away.

Dubas & Pridham are both quants guys and, imo, understand the risks of 21-man roster...and probability of running 3 years (i.e.18-19, 19-20, your 20-21?) virtually 'injury-free'. Can't see them taking that risk.

I would not offer that deal to Barrie.

I wanna target steady defensive D man like DeMelo instead, half the cost.
