Toronto robs Edmonton... jeez. Nurse is a top 4 and arguably a top 2 guy for Edmonton and is their best defensemen. Why would they trade him for a 2nd line winger. Granted Edmonton needs wingers but not for that.

I'm going to assume you'd make the Nurse trade only after signing Gustafsson. My input is that if he has any kind of year like the one he had last season, $5MM in Canadian dollars isn't going to do it. But I like your style.

Yeah, I hear you and most people would agree with you. I f-ing love Nurse personally. He's tough as nails and willing to stand up to anyone in the league. I just think that his asking price next year is going to be too high in proportion to his contribution to the team. He might be very appealing to Toronto if he can be signed for a long-term value deal (i.e. he gives a hometown discount).

Edmonton needs speed and skill on the RW, which Kapanen definitely has. Plus a lower Kap hit.

Yeah every nhl players is paid in USD nurse will get around 6-6.5 nothing higher and if you can get him for 8 years at 6.25 like morrisey in winny you'll be fine I wouldnt do nurse for kapenen tho not a good deal for the Oilers

I edited this one to give $7m to Gustafsson . . . Nurse is great, but at ~6.5m, he's more valuable as a trade piece than a LHD. If they could spend 500k more and get someone who can shoot the puck and make a pass like Gustafsson, I say do it.

Gus is nearly 28 and has had 1 good season playing a sheltered role and you want to throw huge money at him and dump Nurse?? Crazy.

Playing 3rd pairing comp last year Gus posted a 46.54 xGF%, pushing him up to 1st pairing comp isn't going to improve that.
