Im not sure why lebrun even tweeted that out. 6 x 10.5 all thats doing is taking the 7 x 11 and taking a year and 500k off the table... if the matthews deal is where marner wants to be. why is he taking less for a longer term? makes sense for team. i mean 10.5 is still a lot of cash but it doesnt fit the narrative from the marner camp AT ALL.

Probably because the narrative coming from the Marner camp is completely unreasonable?! It doesn't matter where Marner wants to be... it matters what the Leafs are willing to offer him.

it kind of does matter where marner wants to be. its takes 2 to make a contract. If marner doesnt want to play for anything less than what matthews got he 100% doesnt have to. he doesnt have a contract. its his life, he can place whatever value he wants on it. you are the one who thinks its unrealistic.
