Description
Couple notes:

Konency: sign to a sinilar term of that of Kapenen and Johansson with Leafs. Given a more proven track record, he will get more money.

Provorov: Same idea. Using Poink on the bottom and Trouba at the top end, AVV falls in between.

Both players get term whereby Flyers retain contract control.

Ramping up the third line with Frolik. Big upgrade on either Raff or Pitlick, and allows development time for the next group of kids.

Détails additionnels:
Flames still working on clearling some cap, and Frolik is an obvious candidate. His game fits the traditional Flyers mold, and is a significant upgrade on what is there. Be a solid 35-40 points on that 3rd line.

Ratcliffe is a solid propect, but also a couple years away. I say he projects as a top 9 foward. 2nd rounder is for salary retention. Flyers system is fairly deep (thanks Ron Hextall), so I think if the Flyers are comitted to going all in, it's a deal that they do.

Wouldnt Provorov become a UFA after that deal? he has 3 accrued seasons already, and after 4 more (assuming he stays healthy) he would have 7 total by the time the contract is over. Doesnt that make him a group 3 UFA?

Yes I'm pretty sure it would take him right to UFA, not sure if this guy is a Flyers fan but people seem less concerned about that on here lately, must be the Matthews effect.

According to Cap Friendly he still is a RFA, ya know, cuz I looked before finalizing and all. Click on Long Term Outlook......

But I digress......

Whats not to like? A good prospect and 2nd round pick for a player Calgary is trying to trade away to open up cap space. Makes sense to me. awesome face

Its followed by MTL trading Phi Alzner (@ 50% of course) for Rubstov.

@Banks is the contract expiry status in long term outlook correct? Provorov would become a UFA if he signed a 4 year deal, no? He would have 7 accrued seasons from 16-17 to 22-23

From what I am sensing out of the Calgary camp right now is that they prefer to keep Frolik and figure out something else....

Further, with 3 lines that can put the puck in the net couples with maybe the best blueline in the league (on paper anyway), provided Hart picks up whrlere he left off...... this team could win.

Prospects are nice and shiny. But you have to pick a spot. Tampa is Tampa, but short of that the East is wide open, and Philly could totally take advantage of that. They are set up to do damage. But the 3rd line RW needs an upgrade.

Old addage imo: piss or get of the pot.

I wouldn't have minded a deal based around Ratcliffe for Shaw in the summer with MTL.

Well lets not mistake want to to trade with trying to get rid off. Its actually pretty easy to mixup..... anyhoo. Frolik is by no means a terrible player but the value of the trade is as if he is a hot commodity or something which he isn't. A 30+ winger that's making more than he probably should and the team is in need of creating some cap space so it makes sense they'd have to either take back some cap (less than Frolik's) or take back less value in picks prospects, etc.

I obviously cannot say for certain what they are thinking but If I am CGY, I would be laughing my ass off if offered Ratcliffe and a 2nd for Frolik right now. I mean.... after the trade is confirmed of course. Don't want to give it away before then. Hehe

I would have been more then excited with that. His chemistry with Suzuki would be a nice addition.
