Leafs are loaded on the left side. Next year sandin moves up. Deangelo would just be a better fit. Add buch and kravstov, or Howden and a 2nd or a top 5 protected 1st.

Leafs will also take on a contract if need be to help cap, will not be able to take back any more than 10m in total so you may need to move another contract.

first he has a good contract, second he plays better defensively and lastly he doesnt have disciplinary issues

He isnt that great defensively though. He doesnt really have that great of a contract because he isnt that great. DeAngelo does have the issues but he is right handed, that has more value to teams

I dont think marner is worth anything near what hes asking, 9.5 max on a 7 or 8 year contract is more then fair. babcock's refusal to use two leftys on the same pair makes this trade not great and skjie has only had one good season so far. They could get much more for him and I personally think there defense is good enough as it is and they still may resign Gardiner.

I figured as much, think they would want to hold onto kravstov and I think the leafs would rather have Howden and the second.

Leafs would retain 50% and move him. Howden comes up for a new contract when retention comes off. Should be able to get buch and Deangelo under contract for less than 8m. Rangers would still have to make a move. I’ml Try an agm.
