I agree they shouldn't trade Nylander but that Lebanc contract set the bar for best in the league just way too high.

1 year deal for Leblanc and if he does well next season, he's going to want a huge raise.

Zucker has a 10 team no trade list that kicked in July 1st and it's a safe bet all of the Canadian teams are on it due to his family situation.

(His wife has a daughter from a previous relationship and she's said she won't leave the Twin Cities because that's where her daughter's father is.)

Lol what is wrong with you. Being extreme is thinking that after two very good seasons and one down year, nylander is going to break out and be a ppg player just because you’re a fan of the team. His possession numbers are very good and he has great playmaking abilities, but being put in the category of “one of the best contracts in the league” would require him to have a season 85-90 pts and I don’t see that happening.

Overpaid?

The Sharks are in a really tough spot capwise and its going to be hard for them to keep guys. I think Leblanc wanted to ensure he was back for one more run to the cup and then see what happens.

Nylander is not even worth a 7th that's how bad he is.

Babs is the only think holding him back from an 80+ point season. If he gets put on a line with 2 guys who can't score like he was in the playoffs, I am going to lose my mind. If you took a look at all the players who put 60 point seasons together before their 23rd birthday, you find a lot of elite talent. Most fans don't want the Leafs to succeed, they are the Yankees of the NHL, you either love em or hate em and that means its hard to find anyone without a jaded opinion. Look at Nylander as a prime example of this. Most fans on here will point to his 7 goals last season as all the proof you need that he's not a good player. Of course missing training camp and a 3rd of the season really hurt him but it can't be an excuse because the legions of haters don't want reality, they want to win their argument and the Leafs to fail. How many players had 60 point seasons in their 1st two full seasons? Hardly any, and almost all of the ones that did, had elite seasons ahead. Kucherov had similar numbers to start his career and he was a 2 years older than Nylander was when he broke into the league.

Even if Nylander scores 95 points this season, he'll still get blasted by people on here with them saying, its all Matthews or whatever. No matter what, a Leaf player will always be overrated because of some BS Response because some fan is emotionally against the team. Its really weird.

I literally said he’ll have a bounce back year and put up 65-70 pts , but won’t be a ppg player. It seems like you are just that big of a fan of nylander and can’t accept any criticism / or tempered expectations regarding his play.

I am a big Nylander fan and probably too bias. That being said, he's at times been utterly dominant in his first 3 seasons in the NHL (HE HAS ONLY PLAYED 3 SEASONS!!!) and there is so much evidence that he's a special player and yet people on here constantly crap all over him.
