Description

Idea is the Leafs signing Marner on a bridge, and bring Gardiner back on a 1 year deal.

Marner gets a deal similar to Meier, where the last year leaves him with a larger QA offer to keep his rights. 3 year deal, 5.5m-8m-10.5m so his QA would be 10.5m+

Moved Petan to Edmonton because he is a boom bust guy, and Edmonton still lacks quality wingers.

I'm not a fan of Gardiner coming back, but for 1 year like you have here isn't terrible especially if Marner is bridged.

I don’t think marner gets less than 9 mill AAV on a 3 year deal. Just going off of what Chris Johnston reporter today.

I just don't see it happening. I don't see Gardiner taking that little for one year and you still are at the cap shy one man.

To my knowledge no team has ever carried a 22 man roster for more than the 3 or so weeks the Flames did it when they were over the cap post deadline in the Iginla era, since the start of salary cap era. And the NHLPA was rumbling about how they were unhappy when the flames did that.

I'm happy to be corrected as I'm not as up to date as I was 5 or 6 years ago. But to my knowledge it wouldn't fly beating a week or teo
