The conditional pick doesn't make sense. The 2020 draft is before free agency so how will you know if Kreider will sign with COL? Assuming it's the 2021 pick, I still don't really like this value. I'm not comfortable with the Avs trading for rentals at this point, especially if it costs potentially Jost+. It's definitely not the worst value I've seen on here though. I just don't see where he would fit since we already have Landy and Burakovsky on LW. This defeats the purpose of trading for Burakovsky since we wouldn't be giving him an expanded role and he would be playing 3LW like he did in WSH

Definite pass from Colorado. Not only would I not trade Jost in a deal for a rental, Kreider makes no sense for the Avs who have plenty of guys who can play left wing. Landy won't be moved from the top slot, Jost himself could be being brought through on the left and then there are Burakovsky (defeats the object of having traded for him), Wilson, Calvert, Nieto, Bellemare and even Kamenev. Not saying Kreider isn't a better player than those guys but he just doesn't fit with what Colorado have set up. Getting a tad annoying now with Rags fans constantly attempting to trade him to the the Avs. Without meaning to be nasty.....try a different target that is more of a fit!

I agree it may not be the right. A RW would help the avs more like I said, but still the value is even

Not for a 30 year old rental. A former first who is just starting to show he may have what it takes, a third and another kid who could be a future NHL'er, has the skills just been unlucky with injuries. Just think you're overvaluing a 30 year old rental on a team that simply doesn't need him at that price, and that's without it being a future first if the Avs decided to sign a 30 year old when they're trying to stay on the younger side of things and build mostly from within. Kreider is going to want too much money for the Avs to re-sign him at 31.

Jost isn't even close to a bust. My apologies on Kreider's age but even at 29 (which he'd be the following season) he'll want more term and dollars than the Avs would be willing to pay so they've lost Jost & Kamenev and a third for nothing for a guy who doesn't fit the Avs profile really in any way at all.
