Better cap and asset management for the Sens would be to spend 10 m on a UFA (maybe not this year) and keep their picks .
Ottawa has sleuth of draft picks in next three years. If (I know it's a big if) and they spend money on UFAs....they have more cap anyone.....and players do follow the money, Ottawa can be good again and soon.

You may think I'm joking but really, serious question.
Melanik is cheap and that is well known. Ottawa may have the picks to this, doesn't mean they will tho.
