As an Oilers fan this is how I see it. Oilers would want Reinhart, Risto and a first minimum for Draisaitl, 50 goal-100 point players are few and far between. That would leave Nurse and Puljujarvi for the rest, which isn’t even close IMO. I know other teams fans say that Draisaitl is nothing without McDavid but that simply isn’t true. When McDavid was out this past season, Draisaitl excelled and even scored a hat trick one game. I think that the Oilers are getting absolutely fleeced in this deal. Risto was the worst plus/minus player in the whole league and I don’t want anything to do with him on the Oilers.

Indeed. Value-wise, I'd say the assets go like this: Draisaitl, Reinhart, Nurse, Risto, 1st, Puljujärvi, Samuelsson, 2nd and Sheary.

Issue in this move is that it turns quickly into yet another quantity for quality trades this site is filled with so often.

Drai will be a constant 80-90 point forward with or without McDavid. I see Reinhart as a 65-75 point guy, with potential to get even higher. Kinda like Huberdeau.

Risto isn't bad, he's a tad controversial d-man. He has clear strengths and also clear weaknesses. Nurse imo is more solid asset, which is why I value him more.

I think that is good analysis - one thing I'll say is Samuelsson will be a rock solid 2nd pair LD but that's a couple years out

I’d have little interest solely due to the 1st. Buffalo has no luck when it comes to risky ventures and as such Eichel and Draisital would get injured in the first month thus dooming us.

If Buffalo made this trade it solves their RHD-LHD and their Center problems it does open up holes at RW. I would love to have a problem at RW with Jack and Leon as my centers
