Been doing this for a wile. Most people don’t understand our cap situation and think they can lowball compensation. If you are going to OS a leaf player you will over pay and you will be giving up the compensation that Dubas sees as fair trade.

They never have a damn thing to say in these threads, they would much rather ignore facts and post their rants where people who aren’t as well informed about cba rules and our cap situation can shiver with fear.

I have yet to have one person come on my offersheet agm and make a lowball offer. Now that Marleau is gone, for pretty much exactly what most leafs fans predicted maybe even less since we traded up a late pick the task is even more daunting.

There will still be butt hurt offersheet agm’s and I will continue to shoot them down.

I will also continue to support the good offersheet agm’s but also point out that it may not be the best move for the other team involved.

As leaf fans how does it feel to still be paying Phil Kessel to be a two time Stanley cup champions and your team can't even get out of the first round?

Giving up a 1st round pick to dump Marleau...ouch that's got to hurt! Certainly better than including Johnsson, Kap or Kadri, but not what most you Leaf's fans were proposing and trying to defend for the last month on here. That said, if I were a Leaf's fan i wouldn't be too upset with that price...it's fair.

Kap at $3.25M to $3.4M seems right to get him to stay a Leaf and avoid offer sheets as I've been saying. Again, all the Leaf's AGM's thinking he's going to sign in the $2M's are dreaming.

Okay there were plenty of those but there were some sensible ones too where Kapanen was being paid anywhere from 3.5 to 4 million.

Marleau Trade was solid, I love it. He gets bought out and goes back to SAN Jose and everyone is happy. Hope he wins a cup there. Super first class pro who deserves it.

And now you’re going on about the lap contract. It’s 3yrs so that’s a great contract. Most leaf fans were putting him in at 1-2 yr deals to keep the aav low. 3.2m x 3 is right in line with that.

There were a few and definitely gave credit to the ones I saw; I honestly don't look at every AGM so sure I missed a bunch. There were an inordinate amount of one's that are so unrealistic like Marleau bringing back a big return or Kap and johnsson so far off basis cost wise and the exact opposite trade wise it's become a bit of running joke on this website outside of the homers here.
