I believe it's a max of 23 players, but you have to dress 20? could be wrong there

You have to have 20 and can have no more than 23. Having 22 is fine.

I would say no chance Sabres give up a 1st for Vesey, but with Botterill making the deals he may take Smith back instead of the Dal 2nd...

Just reading some of the reports out there saying Buffalo is interested in him probably for the 67th pick Figure pick #49 and Vesey could be enough for #31

That could happen for the STL's # 31 but i hate the Lemieux /Kerfoot deal. (& not a need for Tanev at that end, not that i don't like the guy , just think NYR needs to get there own kids in those bottom 3 or 6 Forward spots)

All of the Rangers own kids I have in the NHL already (Kakko, Chytil, Howden & Kravtsov). The only other forward with NHL potential that is ready or close to being ready that I have in the minors is Lias Andersson who would be better off playing more minutes in Hartford than 10 minutes a night on the 4th line.

I think NYR would need to retain salary on Vlad N to get Zucker.

Minnesota is not in a cap crunch and its only a one year deal.

The difference though is that someone whose value is around pick 20 might fall to 31. That is why you make the trade.

Not the value of the player. The picks can be valued as a percentage that the player has of making the nhl. I'm describing it terribly but sean Tierney has a graph of you look up his name and pick value

I know what you meant. The value of pick 20 of a player making the NHL is exponentially higher than pick 31 which in turn is exponentially higher than pick 49 which is why you trade pick 49 and Vesey to get pick 31 who in turn has a higher chance of playing in the nhl than the player you would have picked at 49.
