An eye to 2017-2018. Thoughts please

Description
1. Team just doesn't have room to be favorite for cup, but don't count them out. Rather work towards getting out of cap hell and sell high.

2. Would WPG want a ready now, sure thing instead of Laine? For Chi, have to worry about 5-6M next year plus another 2.5M in bonuses. Laine gives 3 years of ELC

3. Ana looks to be moving Fowler after signing Vatanan. Shaw seems like a Murry/Carlyle old school player. Also gives them some playoff winner unlike loser Canucks they have been collecting.

4. I look at Wiese as poor man shaw.

5. Q- Of course Wiese might not want to sign after Q jerked him around and Q may not like Fowler either.

6. Super tight to cap, so Rockford shuffle would be rolling as no room for extras. Maybe someone starts on LTIR to give some breathing room.

    as a jets fan, i know that chevy would never trade that 2nd overall pick unless it was an outstanding offer that he just couldn't refuse. as good as panarin was, i believe laine will be better

    If Panarin is a top 10 scorer in the league as he was last year, how many years till Laine is that? Doesn't WPG have to win sometime?

    Everyone loves the new girl. I don't think Laine is a top 5 player like Kane and Toews. Although WPG would trade the whole team for home town kid Toews.

    Nice thoughts on the Jets trade. Unfortunately the Jets would starting next year have a big salary increase with Panarin which gives them a reason not to make the deal. Keep Panarin and go for another Cup. If Panarin has another great season, the Hawks will get good value coming back from someone in a trade or RFA compensation. Maybe Detroit when Datsyuk is off the books.

    Take kane away from panarin and his production drops. Winnipeg isnt winning now and no way or they passing up on guy that could soon be the best goal scorer in the league. Snizbonne is right peg would burn down and i would be part of it.

    Slightly different topic, if jets dont take laine with 2 pick what happens? peg burns? chevy assassinated?
