why not? whats a better spot than next to malkin or crosby? Hes a scoring wing and hes clearly out grown the q. hes got all summer to fully recover from the injury

Niemi is similar to Fleury, you aren't getting him WITH a pick and salary retained. PIT would have to throw in the pick to do that.
ARI deal might be possible, but again, would have to probably give up a 2nd or another late pick to get salary retained.</div></div>
Fleury is superior to niemi, despite his poor year that's not a question. According to reports that's basically what the avs are asking for, maybe pouliot hasn't progressed optimally but he isn't a bust yet. Michalek isn't even in the NHL on a horrible Arizona team. I thought a third was being generous, a second would just be stupid. Arizona is more than happy to get even half his salary of the books

trade puljuarvi
OEL is a top 5-10 dman in the league and with the price on dmen this seems like not nearly enough. Maybe add a 1st or two im not sure.
More importantly, why are you giving up on pulj? Sure he hasnt been everything you would want so far but hes a teenager and has room to grow. I think seeing what Laine and Matthews are doing may make pulj look worse than he is, but he shouldnt be compared to them. they are a rarity.
btw, Hanzal on EDM makes them look scary in that pacific division. three solid lines.

flower isnt worth half of that. goalies have always had a hard time getting could value as they are so hard to compare to skaters. plus the goalie market is saturated and the impliactions of the expansion draft make goalies even less valuable. Id say they should be very happy if they get a second and a backup for flower.
From the Jets pov, I dont see why they would acquire an aging veteran goalie. yes their goaltending has been poor, but the entire team has been. They are young and in no position to win, especially this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div><i>Enstrom has to know he isn't going to be claimed. For the good of the team he should waive his NMC and the Jets can protect either another Dman or two forwards.</i></div></div>
enstrom isnt worth what hes paid but most nights hes the second best dman on the ice. a lot of people knock him on his size sometimes and that massive stick but more often than not he is solid and doing some good things. the jets would be crippled on the left side without him. and why should he waive his no move?? I think its crazy talk thinking about asking for him to waive it. I dont see how in any event that enstrom isnt a jet next year.

Fleury to Calgary for Elliott + who else?
Im not sure it would make sense for calgary to do that at the deadline. I expect them to be out of it by then. even now its questionable given how poorly flower has played and how well johnson has filled in for elliott while he struggles. lets say they are in it at the deadline, I think they would only have to add a third or fourth and maybe a depth guy. Fleury doesnt have much value given his poor play, saturation in the goalie market, and the situation the pens are in with their goaltending. Expansion aside, they have 2 quality goalies and will be paying them 9+ million next year. Flower would be on his way out without expansion, expansion is just going to expedite the process and lower his value.

Fleury to Big D?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>npalley98</b></div><div><i>I think pens say no. Faska is someone who we have a million of in the minors. Nameth is a good peice but no where near enough for fluery. The 2nd is usless sense dallas with a goalie will most certainly make the playoffs and the pick will basically be a third. Plus we take on lehtonen's contract which does us no good. Obviously lehtonen or niemi would have to be included but pens will want more if you are including him.</i></div></div>
I think you are under valuing faksa. I could see him as replacing bonino if he isnt resigned. Yes that pick could be a late second but look at some of the pens seconds and thirds. Guentzel, sprong, if you want to go back to letang you can. what im saying is second and thirds arent nothing, its another asset and another lottery ticket on an nhler. draft picks are more valuable than ever. With how saturated the goalie market is and the implications of the expansion draft, I would be very pleased with a return like this.

theres seems to be some issues with the crowd sourcing. It may be because its to meet exposure requirements but we can bet that situations will change and allow for players like brodie and barrie to be protected. 0% chance players of that calibre are available.

If its not Killorn it will probably be a decent young dman (nestorov) and I think the cap space, like letting Bishop walk is reason enough to let him walk. Thats a long deal for a middle winger and Im not a big fan of the contract, especially at the time when there was bigger fish to fry. Trading him does make some sense tho, but the exposure requirements then become more complicated and could change quite a bit. thanks tho!

I dont see how they can resign Oshie unless Johansson is traded. Even then it could be tough if Kuz has another great year. That Orpik deal looks even worse now as they are stuck with him instead of being able to resign Alzner and/or Orlov.

I'm sick of the Trouba trades, but here is one.

I'd rather have Connor than Lemieux but I doubt WPG is giving him up. Don't the Pens risk losing Hellebuyck to Vegas just like Murray?</i></div></div>
Yes they do. But I'm thinking, it causes less goalie disruption on the Pens now and they get upgrade on defence immediately. Lemieux is the wild card...is he going to be an NHLer? Heck if Hellebuyck shows he is a #1 Pittsburg, maybe the Pens trade him for assets before the draft.
In the meantime, the Jets settle their # 1 goalie issue for few years, and if Maata regains his form even as 3/4 it's a bargain for them too. And the Jet don't have the Trouba RFA scenario over their heads, and thank goodness either does CapFriendly.</i></div></div>
I dont think the question is Lemieux an NHLer but is he a top 6 (second liner) or is he just going to be a physical 3rd/4th liner.
Jets would have take someone like fehr or cole to make the cap work. Youre still over the cap and you made the jets retain more than is allowed on both helle and lemiuex.
I am interested to see what helle could over the long run behind a competent team.

They only have about 2.5 mill in capspace. Lee is not a proven 25 goals scorer, he's done it once and last year was just he's second full season. 26, not THAT young, 3 yrs left on his 3.75 mill. Gut tells me Lehkonen just needs a bit of time to adjust and DLR is also only 21. Big boy also. I can't write him out just yet. The little they save on capspace IMO can still help them if they need to sign someone or make a trade or 2 on deadline or earlier . I really think Lehkonen can shine playing with Tavares.
Stone. 80 ppg last year playing with Turris (upgrade on Pleky offensively). Top offensive D-man Karlsson. Gallagher. 75 ppg. Stone 3.5 mill 2 years left to Gallaghers 3.75 mill 5 yrs. I can't give up on Ghetto just yet. I haven't seen him play with real top 2 centers to see chemistry.
Petry should not have a problem moving to a state with no income taxes. IMO he'll not waive his NTC to go to a better team than the Habs. Dallas is 1 to 2 pieces away from a cup. I think their D is a bigger problem than goalies. Niemi won a cup with Chicago. They know their close so there's that desperation factor that will force them to overpay.
Oleksiak 6'7 . 260lbs. LD. Still pretty young. They're thin on LD. still has room and time to improve his game. Along with Buff and Myers, that's a scary D core. Redmond was Avs best possessions player. With Trouba gone the 3rd RD spot is his . Obviously they didn't need him before cause they couldn't fit him anywhere on RD. A 1st rnd pick is a nice cherry on top even if it's a late one.
Beaulieu and Carr for Fowler: stoner and Lindholm are the only other full time nhlers on LD. Ya Theodore is there but stoner has 1 more year after this. Beaulieu is a late 1sr rounder. He's got size speed and hands. Carr was doing pretty decent before he went with an injury. In Anaheim he gets the chance to play with real centers if he was given a shot at top 6. IMO MT misused him just like he does with all young players. That's why he was playing 3rd line in MTL.
For kindl I wasn't sure for the buyout deadline. But yes I would do this deal just to buy him out. I really don't know what else I can get in return if I really hustled but I just want to create capspace. Markov highly doubtful he'll waive NTCs. are you sure its not just the effects of playing primarily with Barrie? I think Eric is good but not anywhere close to the other RHD USA has to offer.

It's all about knowing when to sell
I completely understand the idea of trading Murray as he will fetch a greater return, but not if you trade malkin too. If your gonna keep the older goalie you might as well keep the core(malkin) and try to keep winning cups.Malkin will always be better than nuge and probably more impactful than pulj for at least a couple years. Your malkin trade has an eye on the future but to trade murray would be a full commitment to winning in the next 3 or so years, which is all the window that is really left with crosby anyways. I dont mind either trades youve done here on there own but not together. I think they contradict the direction of the team.

Brodie trade options (Ottawa)
okay ive seen both your options now, and both are absoulutely insane, especially the one for Josi. If you think Brodie is that good why are you even trading him. it doesnt make sense. Dont get me wrong im a fan of Brodie and Id take him over Gio but this is nonsense.

Best D in the league? <strong>Hes not even the best on his team. </strong>Shatenkirk does much more. If Parayko takes anonther step forward I might be making the case Pie is the third best on the team.
Dont get me wrong, Im a big pie fan, I loved the guy when he was playing for Canada at the world juniors and he is a great player, but one of the best D in the league is a bit of a stretch.</i></div></div>
You know little about defense</i></div></div>
then you know little about offense.
