That's a trade that probably works for both teams, is fair, and if I were the Flyers I'd have a hard time passing up, but as a fan I'd have a hard time swallowing. We've already got enough idiots on Flyers twitter crying about Brayden Schenn today. I can't wait until the day Ratcliffe scores 40 goals and is an absolute monster on the ice and the "should've kept" takes start coming. But it's a smart trade, an actually fair hockey trade. Vegas has NO prospect pool, are tight to the cap, and Smith and Miller help the Flyers. Ideally we'd solve our center issue, but if Hayes signs, this would pretty much wrap up the offseason in 1 move for fletcher outside of signing RFAs.

I think Vegas would be crazy to breakup that Karlsson, Marchessault, Smith line.

Agreed, although I think Ratcliffe is pretty darn close to a prospect I would consider untouchable, but he's also a piece that if you want to make a deal this summer to improve without taking off the current roster is probably gone. He had a great playoffs and his stock is high.

If that trade is off, it wouldn't take much to balance it -- how about the Nashville third and the Las Vegas fifth?
