Hischier is a good player but I think based on sheer volume of quality assets going the other way, he'd need to be a 100 point player to justify the value WPG is losing here.

We're talking about a young 30+ goal winger, a young top pairing RHD and a 1st round pick. I'm not going to lie, I'd trade just about any player in the league for that. (Guys like McDavid excluded obviously)

I think that trade favors the Devils pretty heavily. Assuming they can absorb the cap hit I think they'd do it in a heartbeat.

This has nothing to do with the trade, but if Hughes becomes the player everyone thinks he will, and teams have to concentrate their best defense on him, Nico is going to go off.

I already think Nico can go off even more than he has, people severely undervalue and under estimate him. But yes, Hughes will garner alot more which should open him up even more, which is terrifying to think about in a good way
