I would agree, but JFK just announced that he plans to sign over in the SHL this offseason, so I'd trade him before them. You never if or when he'll come back to play in the NHL.

He only went back over to be closer to family. I'd expect him to be back in 2020-21. Bruins retain his rights.

Yeah but he's probably not doing that if he knows he'll get a shot in the NHL. Cause depending on where in Sweden he signs Boston could literally be only a few more hours away

He'll be back sooner rather than later. Sounds like there maybe some health concerns with a family member and he wants to be close to home. JFK has said he's still committed to play for the Bruins and the Bruins were very much involved with making things work for him during this time. They also avoid having to send him through waivers to play in the AHL.

My theory is the Bruins asked him to go back for a year or two to develop. He said he has every intention of returning to Bruins. If he Isn't in the NHL, he can't be exposed to Expansion draft and the likelihood of him getting anything more than fill in injury time over the next year + was questionable.

He went to Sweden because he’s blocked by Coyle. He’ll get literally 20 times the money over there, so why not go over, play in a better league for a year or two, and then come back. As mentioned, he did say he’s coming back.

He would still be exposed for the expansion draft though.

Very few players reach 200k sek / month, which translates to some $270k yearly. That could very well be 10 times and more of an AHL salary (which I'm unsure of how they work exactly), but I don't know how much he'd had to play in the NHL to reach that. Injuries happen though, and I wouldn't mind having him in the Johansson-shaped hole of the roster

Are you sure he would be exposed? I thought you had to have 70 NHL games over 3+ years. I very well may be wrong.

I 100% think you're on point about reasoning. I think Studnicka is probably ahead of him as well. Or At Least they hope he is...

I’m pretty sure. I feel like they change these things without telling us though.

I agree about studnicka. I would be blown over if he isn’t on the nhl team next year.
