Kadri doesn't get u Pesce IMO. Kadri 's stock has fallen and Pesce has skyrocketed. It will take Kadri and Kapanen for Pesce and McGinn

Pesce it too good with too much good term for Carolina to trade So the Leaf trade good NHLers Kapanen and Zaitsev for not a good one.

Kadri and Kappy is hard for Toronto. I think there's a hockey trade to be had there though, considering the needs of both teams. Carolina has 5 defencemen making over 4mil/year, I would imagine they want to get younger there. Faulk is a potential option but I would want some assurances he is staying longterm. He's also not a great partner for Rielly as they play a similar style. Joseph Woll is possibly an intriguing piece for Carolina considering their goaltending has been in flux all year. I think the Leafs could be persuaded to add in a young defensive prospect as well, provided it wasn't Sandin or Lilly. Think that would get it done for Pesce? These teams make a lot of sense for a deal. Both are also signed long-term so I think that makes giving up on both sides easier.

Brown for Benning is similar, fills a need for each team, while Toronto doesn't invest too much in RD considering Liljegren might be ready for a mid-season callup.

I also don't want to trade Kadri without getting a centre back somehow, as I am not comfortable with Nylander at 3C. As well I think it's risky to assume Bracco is ready to step into a top 9 role in the NHL based on his 200 foot game.

Benning was scratched and a boat achor on Edmonton. Dubas likes Mobile D. Get a pick or a B/C Prospect for brown would be more preferable.

Despite his bad year Kadri is an effective Center. At that cap hit I think he has more value compared to Peces especially with Liljgren and Sandin coming up and Rosen emerging as a good D. Dermott steping forward. I also dont think Peces is a D to target at all. He wont move the needle and you give up a 1-2-3 punch of Tavares, Matthews, Kadri. I will pass.

Ziatsev is not a useless D, and other GMs around the league will like his gritt an dwhatever. The old Boys club. I dont think he is an anchor like people suspect.

Kap for Zacha, I dont know it well enough, but my personal emotions have invested into Kap so I like him, but who knows.
