Ummm wtf is that LA trade?

I am experimenting with the cost of dumping Backes' contract.

Yeah but...Heinen's not an upgrade from Kempe and Iafallo. LA is essentially paying for taking Backes here. And it's obviously BOS who needs to pay for any team to take him.

I thought Heinen was better? What do you suppose could make the value work? Take out Iafallo?

Not really. Heinen scored about the same amount of points and plays in much better team that LA is.

Considering how bad Backes's contract is, I'd say buyout is pretty much the only realistic way to get rid of him.

Nothing you did here makes any sense. I’d take a look at the values other posters have assigned to the rfa and ufa players and get a feel for what they might sign for

Lol, no. Take out everything LA gave you, replace it with a 5th round pick, then replace Heinen with a 2nd. Backes and a 2nd for a 5th. That’s how you get teams to take a contract.

Give an example of a trade that went down like that asides the Vegas expansion draft. I never see those type of trades. Usually the buy price is a player.

Take out Iafallo and Kempe and put in a 6th round pick from LA then it might make sense.
Yes Backes' contract is that bad and he doesn't help LA at all so yes that or something similar is what it'd take. I don't see why LA would part with young talent like either Kempe or Iafallo to take on Backes, if they did they'd be total morons.

Stop trying to straight trade Backes. You need a middle team for a "3-way" deal. Move him have July 1st when his actual money owed is around $5 million total for 2 more years.
