Oilers needs to rid themselves over overpriced contracted players that's never actually been anything but potential talent. I Oilers has specifik needs, defense, goalies. Things they could possibly build from a 1st pick. The trade is not that outrageous

that doesn't get you the 4th pick AND RNH. Edm could trade STL ANH WPG or COL for one of the RHD assumed to be available for either RNH or the 4th, and then the other for a 2nd RHD better than what's been traded here. Just not fair value

Who would you want as a top quality prospect? I would include Lazar in the trade if that's what it would take to get it done. Lazar is having a hard time finding a role with the sens and could play to his potential back in his junior hockey town.

Wake up buddy. Nuge had back to back 50+ point seasons and is only 22. Calling him a broken 3c just proves how little you know. That fact that your bashing him and trying to justify that your doing EDM a favour is hilarious. Weircoch has no value, and Cecil plus the 12th for the 4th is a lot closer. "throwing in" Nuge is just plain dumb

On a side note, Chia had nothing to do with the world Championship roster so not sure what you mean there

#1 I like Nuge which is why I would trade for him and yes hopefully have 50+ point season in Ottawa
#2 he is 23 not 22 (not a big deal)
#3 I called him broken because for a young player he has already had 2 major shoulder surgeries
#4 he is only a 3C in Edm since he is behind McDavid and Draisaitl in depth

4th Oa > 12th and Weircoch.

This one is a no brainer in my personal opinion. EDM can get way better. Not saying Ceci is garbage or anything just that Nuge + 4oa is worth a lot!

ceci>Nugent by a wide margin. Ottawa looks better with ceci than Nugent Hopkins. Ottawa is deep at centre, not at defence, and Hopkins's contact will trouble the team when karlsson, methot, and chabot each need a new contract in 3 years.

Ottawa doesn't have excess Dmen to trade away. Think RHN coud fit in Carolina who do have an excess of young Dmen. Don't ask for Faulk in return though.

Your basing it off what Ottawa looks like with him. Edm doesn't care about that. Nuge has a certain amount of value to him that if your not willing, someone else will be. Ceci is a fine young dman but he's going to command a decent chunk of change when he resigns with Ottawa so the difference between what Nuge makes and what Ceci will make won't be that much. I like him but once again your being biased beyond belief if you think he somehow treads water in the debate with other players of his similar situation like H. Lindholm, S. Jones, M. Reilly, etc? Nope sorry, he's a good young player with some nice upside but not in the same category....but you'll say he does but frankly its hard to take your side seriously with some of the statements you've made in the past. (Pageau > Malkin, etc)
