Brutal for the Oilers. The way I see it, puljujarvi doesn’t have that much value, but definitely has more value than Gauthier, who’s at 0.5 ppg in the AHL this season. Lots of people don’t think Gauthier will ever make the NHL, puljujarvi still has a bit of value, seeing as he went 4th overall and he’s still shown flashes of high skill level. He’s definitely not very valuable, but I’d take 1 puljujarvi over 2 Gauthiers.
Nugent-Hopkins is far more valuable than Faulk. I like Faulk, he’s a good 2nd pairing guy with some offence. Nuge is a great 2-way 2nd line center. He’s got like 28 goals and almost 70 points this season. And his wingers are usually Alex Chiasson and Tobi Rieder (the guy without a single goal all season). He’s great defensively and an all round good 2C. He’s also got a year more than Faulk on his contract, he’s far more valuable.
Bean might have a tad more value than Benson because he went higher in his draft and he does project to be a top 4 dman. But don’t forget that Benson currently leads all AHL rookies in points this year. That’s amazing, he’s got a high hockey IQ and he’s an amazing passer. I’ll give Bean the slight edge, but not by much.
Edmonton’s pick is a lottery pick and is projected to be somewhere between 6th and 9th overall based on current standings. Carolina is a playoff team. Edmonton’s draft pick has at least twice the value.
In conclusion, Edmonton is getting absolutely ripped off...
