Gratitude 4 commentary.
Risto gets me uni dimensionally excited.
With Buff adding Montour, guessing they maaaay move Risto.
HATE 2 lose RNH (Sakic 2), hence wanting Reinhart in return.
Very good..-~

Sabres fan here

Wtf happened to Lucic?
Only 5 goals this year... and I’m pretty sure he had 2 of those in one of the games against us
Idk what to think about the Okposo for Lucic part of this?
Here in Buffalo, we are ready to ship out Okposo any way possible
But it actually looks like Lucic is even worse!

As for the rest of it...
seems to be in the ballpark for me
U guys get the 2 best pieces in the deal

Sam > RNH bc he’s 4 years younger, and RNH’s stats this year are inflated a bit due to playing with McDavid

Risto is the 2nd best piece bc good Right Handed defensemen are the hardest pieces to find these days

Why might the Sabres do it?
Bc RNH can play 2C for us, which we need badly
Your 1st round pick has obvious value- but it would have to at least be top2 protected for u guys to risk it
And i suppose we’d be gambling that Puljujarvi could still work out to be a good player

Idk that a deal like this would ever get done though
There’s just so many question marks involved
Both GMs would have to be willing to take a pretty big gamble here

Well put&explained across the board!
The only attribute Lucic provides is honest old school toughness.
I love him, but cap hit of course.
Okposo is faaaar more skilled, but also more injury prone.
Gratitude 5 Sabre input..-~

Well, we arent trading reinhart, certainly not in the same deal as ristolainen and certainly not in a deal that forces a horrible contract on us

Sabres laugh and hang up. Reinhart and Risto for RNH and a 1st is far from fair

So let's see:
Reino>RNH
Risto> pool party and a first (depends on what pick I guess)
Okposo>Lucic
Deal?=no

Excellent analysis
Quoting: BootBoi

IMO the trade is not close, I think the Sabres would decline.

Okposo, Kyle > Lucic, Milan: Okposo spends less than 8% of his ice time with Eichel, Lucic spends nearly 16% of his ice time with McDavid, Okposo has 11 goals, Lucic has 5 (yes 2 in one game against Buffalo)

Reinhart, Sam <=> Nugent-Hopkins, Ryan: this one is close, Reinhart gets the nod for his youth and higher ceiling, Hopkins gets the nod because he would be a great #2 center for Buffalo

Ristolainen, Rasmus > Puljujärvi, Jesse + 2019 1st round pick (EDM): Montour looks really good and may make Ristolainen available, but Buffalo would still need another defenseman to replace Ristolainen. This is the big unknown, if Puljujärvi develops into a top 3 winger then Buffalo wins this trade by a wide margin. If Puljujärvi is what he is, Edmonton wins this trade by a wide margin.

How about Okposo, Reinhart and Bogosian for Lucic, Nugent-Hopkins and 2020 first top 10 protected? I think Buffalo would need to retain some of Bogosian's salary and add something, a prospect or a pick.

I think Lucic has a little more value than u think
If we acquire him, we’d be doing so for his grit & toughness- which we lack
And he’d fit better into a 4th line role than Okposo
So there’s some added value there

I don’t think there’s any way EDM would agree to your proposal

We would only do the original deal proposed if we liked Puljujarvi
If we do still like him, it’s a pretty fair deal
Getting RNH to anchor 2C is big
And getting another Top10 pick (especially) would be the biggest value for us

Nugent-Hopkins has played 35% of his 5v5 time with McDavid this year. A total of 39% of his 5v5 points came with McDavid this year. That's not a huge bump. Nuge is producing on the 2nd line while running with 4th line wingers. His most common wingers this year: Puljujarvi, Chiasson, Khaira, Lucic, Kassian, Rattie and Caggiula. Wow.

Meanwhile, Reinhart has spent 61% of his 5v5 time with Eichel and Skinner, with 68% of his points coming there.

Also, they're 2 years apart, not 4.

I guess it was 2.5yrs, not 3.5 years
Either way...
I think most would take Reinhart over RNH
