What CBJ does if they miss

Description

CBJ needs to find a way to keep at least 1 of Panarin, Bob, Duchene or Dzingle. Duchene is the least likely as they would need to give up another first to resign him. However there is a loophole in that system where as long as he signs on July 1st or later he is no longer resigning (also 7 year max contract). Bob and Panarin are both more than likely headed to Florida. That leaves Dzingle. I dont know if he would stay if he is the only one left.

I have them all signed to deals I think they would need to stay. (This doesnt mean I think they can or will sign any of them) I also dont claim to know their value so I could be way off, especially Dzingle.

I think Dzingel was asking for a little more than 5M in Ottawa, so I'd say you overshot his by a decent amount. Some stupid team might give that contract to Bobrovsky, but I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. No goalie should make more than 7 or 8 on a long term deal. Especially someone who has not shown much at all when it maters most. Duchene is just right, he should get 9M give or take 500k. Panarin is probably 2M too high, but again, some stupid team will probably give him 12M. He shouldn't get more than Stone's 9.5.

"CBJ needs to find a way to keep at least 1 of Panarin, Bob, Duchene or Dzingle." Why? If the players are going to cost too much or don't want play for CBJ, just let them sign elsewhere. Spend your money wisely on players who want to play. And really if CBJ can't win with this group, why do you them the same players....now at a higher cost return to 2019/20.
What has Bob really done for CBJ that he deserves so much $$$ in the future? Lots of better value options.

Yeah I like dzingles game and maybe after Skinner and panarin and Duchenne suck up the big money the next layer of guys can get some team that missed out to pay up. I like dzingles game he's improved every season , I don't think his ceiling is much higher but he can help a top 6 group for sure. Edmonton seems interested in sure he gets a lot of interest

Yeah I had no idea in regards to Dzingle. I definitely agree with your goalie philosophy but Price ruined that. I think Panarin will be paid too much by someone lol
