Compher has similar points to Kerfoot, yet you signed him a million more than him..... makes no sense , they should be signed to a similar contract, maybe half a mil apart, not a whole Mil.

Also could have let Brassard go and signed someone more productive than him for that amount of cash . He only has 11 goals and 9 assists in 51 games played.

At this point, you might be able to get Broberg or Bowen Byram as well as Hughes.

If the Avs miss the playoffs, you have a chance at both, but unlikely. I think you take the best player #1 regardless of your needs. Right now that is Hughes

Best player right now is Kakko. He's putting up better numbers in a mens league then Hughes is in a kids league

Personally I think Hughes is better, but it’s just interesting to see that Hughes has put up points similar to franchise centers. I didn’t include busts, but there aren’t very many from the US and Finland. Those systems have done remarkably well with developing prospects.

Hughes seems to be underrated by those who aren't scouts. He has all the traits teams need nowadays other than size. Kaakko is really good, but Hughes is going to be a game changer

compher has played 12 less games than Kerfoot, and the coaching staff, mgmt group loves them some JT. He plays all situation for them. Kerfoot does not. It makes 100% perfect sense IMO and I would see them locking up compher to bigger money over kerfoot

I think Kerfoot will want more money, Rantanen will want more money, Zadorov will want more money, and I'd shoot myself if we paid Brassard $6.5M OR signed him for 4 years, let alone both. I'd let him walk or sign him for like $3.5M/1 year max.

Brassard isnt worth the 3 million he makes now, compher and kerfoot should both be around 3mill, zadorov will be around 4, and I think they should just walk away from andrighetto

Look at the reliable ones. Look at the needs of most of the teams who have a chance at the 1OA. Kakko is hands down a better player as someone who’s watched both in person. Kakko is much better in the eye test and the advanced stats back it up. Kakko has better handling, passing vision, defence, skating. All Hughes has is that shot. Kakko is a better player hands down

Laine isn't much of a yardstick. He's a 2nd or 3rd liner who can stand in one spot on the PP and nail the top corners. One-trick pony - helluva trick, but still just one.

maybe you are a scout but the consensus among literally every other scout is Hughes > Kakko
