Well, Nylander hasn't produced as much offense as good as Pesce's defense done. Carolina doesn't need anyone from Toronto, you guys need pesce more than carolina needs anyone from Toronto. They need Pesce more than anyone from your team. This is why it would cost more. Also the bonuses Carolina would have to pay, and the problems with what his contract will be compared to what Pesce's better contract and a steal of a contract.
Well..no one is trading for Nylander this year...nor is he available...so any bonsues get taken care of after July 1st by the leafs.
2nd...it's kind of ignorant to take a small sample size on Nylander to make a blanket statement on his offence.
3rd....leafs seem to be doing just fine as a top 5/6 team in the league without any help from Carolina or their defence...how is that spectacular D helping Carolina's efforts? Seems to me the hurricanes have more to gain from finding scoring than the leafs have to gain from adding D...so that will not tilt the scales in any trade offer.
4th...Pesce is one dimensional. He's an incredible, young, shut-down d-man. The leafs could certainly use that...but he's not what I would view as a 'complete package' type player (nor is Nylander for that matter)...but he's not the type of player the leafs should consider trading off a core piece for
Leafs would be better off not making any trade than doing Nylander + for Pesce (and it appears they currently are better off)
