Huberdeau - feedback

Description
Turning JP ++ into a legit Top 6 Forward. Florida clears cap and gets 4 young assets for Huberdeau.

I think this team could still push for the playoffs but it'll be tight. The return of Sekera and the addition of a Top 6 F could be enough to push this team into the playoffs

No from MTL. Throw Petrovic elsewhere please.

Philly would be sending a goalie Edmonton's way. Elliott being the likely candidate.

I can't see anyone doing the Oilers a favour cap wise unless the Oilers included a pick/prospect as an incentive. i'd say Petrovic+4th round pick and the Oilers get a 5th round pick. That type of deal.

I think edm needs to tear it back to the studs, they need there picks and elc deals to bear fruit, before the final piece sorta trades

This is great for EDM, but this stinks for FLR. Pool Party isn't going to be the "main piece" in any trade unless it's for AHL players. He's bad. Think Nail Yakupov.

Both fair points, but the main part of this whole roster was about the Huberdeau trade lmao. Do you guys think the value is equal?

Also see CapFriendly's tweet about Talbot to PHI. They don't need to retain any/get a roster player back because the cap hit is accumulated and not the full 100%

Ok no. JP's only 20, he's got way more hockey to go before getting the bust label, there are lots of 20 year olds struggling in the NHL and should be playing in the AHL, JP being one of them. Don't be so quick to label him a bust and moreso, it's the organization's fault he's failing. He should be playing 20 mins a night in a top 6 role on an AHL team rather than 10 mins a night on the 4th line of an NHL team. It's hard to make an impact with that little time on the ice.

So where do you place his value all by himself? What do you think is a realistic return for him right now?...in draft picks...

***EDIT*** for the record I do think you're right about the organization being at fault here, but many times...the damage is done...just like Nail. It's NOT common for a Dylan Strome to be released from a terrible place and then immediately become a point per game player.

I think if you look back to Oilers history, see the Paajarvi + 2nd Rounder for Perron type of deal. Struggling lottery pick + a higher 2nd rounder for a legit top 6 Forward.

Jesse and Tobias don’t hold any “real” value EDM would need to give up a top forward prospect as well

Pulijarvvi and the rest of the package isn't close enough to get you Huberdeau, I don't see why fla would trade Huberdeau unless it's to free up cap space for Panarin and Bob. But nonetheless they'd be looking for a bigger return.

I'm actually ok with that. A ~40-45 point player for Pool Party and a REALLY good 2nd...#33...almost a 1st. Good research!

Florida wants to win and to go for it next season. They mainly need a legit #1 keeper (Bob?) and a top-4 right handed defensive D. And they won't trade both Vatrano and Huberdeau. Depending the player Oils receive, I see Florida asking for Larsson+.

Everyone wants to keep saying FL needs bob.
But I have yet to read 1 freaking post on how the hell FL is going to magically remove the already 8 million they are spending on their goalie situation for the next 3-4 years.

Do you really think FL is going to spend roughly 19% of their cap on 3 goalies?

Please some one explain this to the rest of us because I know I'm not the only one confused on this.

All of that wont even get you Huberdeau, certainly not Vatrano too. Start with Nurse and add from there
