Not sure where Fleury is ranked amongst Montreal's prospects though, maybe take him out or replace him with a pick and it's a fair trade?

That's something else I should of said, I bet the value on a guy like Danault is really high. Given the Canadians centre prospects that are coming Danault could be expendable but these prospects are still a year or two away for some of them and the fact that the Habs are looking like they'll be a playoff team I can't see them trading Danault.

IMO, Fowler won't have MTL on his 4 teams trade list, that pretty much close the conversation.

Danault is out best C right now and until KK,Peohling can't take top spot... we can't afford trading him even if you get Brassard

I meant for this trade to happen in the off season if that makes any more sense. I feel like acquiring a top pairing LHD would take priority, and if it meant giving up Danault as part of a package to get Fowler, the Canadiens would do it...but I could be totally wrong haha.

Think of the Vatanen for Henrique trade, Danault is closer in value to Fowler then your giving him credit for here. He is younger, looks to being a reliable 50 point defensive center and is on a good contract. Fowler is good but he is still only a 3-4 dman. A 50 point 25 year old center, a top 20 pick and a B level prospect should get you a better return then a single top 4 dman.

I think people seems to overrated Fowler and underrated Gosth... Fowler is close to 30 yo and wasn't great the last 2 seasons or so. I wouldn't trade for him at that price for sure

Lol yikes apparently I'm a little off then haha. Danault is probably better than I am giving him credit for as I don't watch MTL all that often. I just know that MTL needs a LHD. I can't see it being Fowler due to his strict NTC, but hopefully they find someone this off season...(and don't say Gardiner)...
