All this depends on whether you are saying they are overpaid for their current production or at the signing of their contract.

There are numerous players that were some of the best in the league when they signed their contract, but are no longer preforming at that level.

Kovalchuk was producing like an all star before the worst coach of all time came along. Gave him such little ice time even though he was leading his team. He was even still at that top of his teams stats when he went on a cold streak which is because his role was diminished so badly. And then he got injured. And many belived that injury was fake and it was just said because he doesnt want to play for a coach thats not playing him when hes leading his team and signed a big contract to play on the top line.

Neal would have produced just fine if not for the emergence of lindholm. Neal was supposed to play with Gaudreau and Monahan, thats what he was signed for. But now hes playing with much less significant players which is obviously going to affect his production.

Price will probably be the player of the month for January. He’s been the best goalie in the nhl for the last 2 months altough he has to deal with a poor Defense in front of him. His impact on the team is such that he deserves that much money

so i mean...they both are overpaid greatly for the value they put out. No way around that.

I don’t know how it’s possible to make this team without Brent Seabrook.
