I completely understand you are just messing around on here, but the Leafs would be highly interested in that deal with St. Louis. On the flip side, I doubt St. Louis would ever do it, or would require more from the Leafs. I don't see the Leafs taking a run at Mayfield when there are others potential out there, like Nick Jensen of Detroit.

The Blues trade looks pretty solid but leave out Kyrou. Doubt the Islanders agree but the Blues trade would be a very solid upgrade for sure and give the Leafs exactly what I believe they need to go toe to toe with Tampa.

Yeah, no way we would give up both in the deal. I honestly think it's more likely that Alex P is traded over Parayko. Either way, not giving up Kyrou. Blues need more speed on their team and he certainly provides it.

So nylander And Lilly are slow? Think the trade with kyrou is fair. It’s nylander for parayko and and Lilly for kyrou with a 2nd to help motivate. Like it’s titled I was just playing around with some trades. I don’t think parayko is being moved. But if your moving petro for nylander it will cost you more. The term involved tilts the deal.

Mayfield is as good as Jensen, bigger more production and cheaper with 5 years of term. So why would the leafs not try that. To be honest we would be stupid to not inquire.

Lou signed Zaitsev to that deal, maybe he jumps all over it like did for Matt and Leo

That was part of my reasoning. Most GM’s in the league are aware of zaitsev’s value. It’s not huge but it’s there. Lou May value him higher and he knows how much brown can do for a team. Same reason he took character guys like uncle Leo and Martin.

I didnt say any of them were slow. But Kyrou is a world class skater with world class speed. That may be all we see right now, but most prospect watchers agree about this. I dont think Blues do Parayko for Nylander, we can agree to disagree on that. I have heard a bit about Lilly, but i would have to hear more to know if I would do that or not. I like Kyrou a lot, Corey Pronman has him as the 6th best prospect in the NHL right now, but we haven't seen much from him in his time in the NHL so far.

As i said though, I really think it's more likely they trade Alex P over Parayko. I dont think they want to re-sign Petro to a 5-7 years for $8M deal. So maybe not during season, unless Leafs really push for it, but i could see more in the offseason. Pretty much a mirror image of the Shattenkirk situation a couple years ago.

OK, did some research and this trade is a closer than I originally thought. Would be interesting, would love to have Lilly, would hate to part with Kyrou, so makes sense right? I still think the more likely guy to go is Petro though. Nylander worries me because of the holdout and struggles early on, but he put up 60+ back to back seasons, so you would think he would get back to that level.

Nylander has been playing well and all the metrics are there just not showing up on the scoresheets. I completely understand being cautious about it but just watching him play you can see the talent and effort is there. It’s been a frustrating couple of weeks for the leafs. Even Matthews isn’t producing.

Yeah, i don't think you can base it off of what he has done so far this year. In most "rumored" deals with the Leafs, whether it's Petro or Parayko, I see Kapanen's name. To make the money work i would think that Nylander is more of a possibility though. Unless Toronto goes back to Carolina to trade Nylander and uses Kapanen to make a trade with us. Who knows. I believe a deal for Petro/Parayko is more likely to happen in the offseason. But if Toronto gets desperate enough, maybe it happens in the next month.
