How were they to know they would be as bad this year? They had a down year as a team last season and nobody has rebounded. Ouch. Honestly, if they're going to be that bad this year, sell of everyone, accept that Hughes is going to Colorado, and shoot for Lundell/Lafreniere next year. There's nothing they can do.

Everyone knew they weren't a playoff team, but bottom three is a different story. Anderson, White, and Chabot are injured right now. I expect them to rebound especially when Chabot returns. I doubt they'll be a bottom three team come the end of the year. LA looks awful, Chicago and Detroit aren't getting better anytime soon especially since their top guys are all performing as well as can be expected, and St. Louis looks to be selling and should sink even more. New Jersey and Philly should rebound with Hall and Hart. Unfortunately, when you're in the bottom five you still have a 50-75% chance of picking in the top three.

tbh Keeping the 4th overall pick last year to draft Tkachuk was probably the right move for OTT. A lot can change in the standings still this year and the 2019 OTT pick could end up being a bust. Tkachuk has been terrific when healthy, Sens fans should be happy with that pick
