Tarasenko deal wont happen without Necas and a 1st (or Pesce) involved. Perron deal is fine for the Blues, don't think Edmonton says yes, but then again it is Chia. Not sure if Schenn gets moved to Columbus. Blues would probably want futures in Foudy if they do.

So you want to trade Tarasenko, Schenn, and Schwartz and not get a 2019 1st rounder and a maybe 2020 1st round pick??? That's just puzzling.

With the Tarasenko deal you have a high level prospect in Bean, a player with top 6 potential in Saarela, and a top 9 forward in Foegele. Maybe there could be a 1st there but it would probs have to be conditional. Schwartz deal I debated putting a 1st, but if u think he deserves one then fine I'll remember that for next time. Schenn would get a non conditional 1st if he wasn't so inconsistent.

I had a trade on here where I trade Tarasenko to Carolina but I was told my other offer was too much from Carolina so I took out Wallmark, and that's what was left.

Of course Carolina fans say that. A continuing theme on this sight is "quantity over quality". This and that other deal is a prime example.

Tarasenko to Carolina is an easy trade IMO. Necas, Pesce and a 2019 1st and the deal is done.

Habs say no, unless we can flip Bouwmeester for more.

Easy for Blues fans, but the Canes would not make that deal.

Your Schwartz/Gunnar proposal is, like Chopper says above, more quantity than quality. Gunnar by himself gets your 3rd round pick and Vande Sompel. You're getting a top six pairing, veteran defenseman who plays a solid game with some offensive upside for a "meh" pick and a defensive prospect who may or may not pan out. Time will tell.

With Schwartz, you are getting a top three forward who has the talent to be a top three but also thinks the game better than many. He also plays his butt off every game and gives you power play minutes. The only knock on his game is he gets hurt. This comes from the intensity with which he plays hockey. He is tenacious on offense and defense. As he ages, he will have to learn to pick his spots in order to stay on the ice, and you are seeing that more this year. Two of his injuries in the past have come from lower leg injuries because he will jump in front of any shooter to block pucks. He'll have to pick his spots for that going forward, and when the Blues actually get a goalie that is not having a love affair with Doug Armstrong, he (and others) won't have to attempt to block so many shots because the Blues will have a goalie who can actually stop some.

So that leaves your proposal at Schwartz for a 2nd round pick, Bellows, Johnston, and Pelech. Johnston brings the Blues what Fabbri already does. No need for him. Pelech appears to be your replacement for Gunnar since he's involved in the trade. So what you are proposing is a middle six forward in Bellows, a second to third pairing defenseman in Pelech, and a 2nd round pick for a top line winger. That's an under payment.

If Schwartz is your man, and you want to include Bellows, then you must make the pick a 1st rounder, keep Pelech and Johnston, and offer Dobson or Wilde, which will not happen. The Isles won't relinquish either of those guys IMO. If you agree to include Dobson, then perhaps the 1st rounder could be a 2nd rounder.

Which is why it hasn't happened. It's costly, I know.

Schwartz could look very good with Barzal - no real interest in Gunnarson though. All in all, it's not a terrible offer, just not one I think the Isles would make. If they're going to package Bellows, I think they swing for the fences on Stone or Tarasenko

Conceptually, it's difficult to add 11 guys under team control next year and beyond while only removing 4. We have a few prospects pushing for NHL spots already, that number will be larger to start next season. So what we're left with is way too many average players and not enough stars. Sounds like a disaster. This is why people preach quality over quantity.
