Way to much for 1 year of Schenn

Why do people insist on signing players coming off 3 year entry deals to four year deals? It never happens...find me one scenario where it’s happened in the last decade

It's either because people don't understand restricted Free agency or think the player will do the team a favor. It's the same thing that causes everyone to say Rask is way overpaid. They compare him or his contract to younger guys on their first or bridge deals. At the time his peer group was Price, Lunqvist, Rinne, Crawford, etc... and he is right there. Prices have come down on goalie a bit since he signed. I would much rather have Rask @ 7m than Mike Smith at 5.6m.

Krug is scoring at a .80 pace the last season and this season combined. Schenn is scoring at a .70 during the same time period. How a forward who scores less than a defenseman can be thought of having so much more value as he, like you think in this trade, is completely ridiculous. Schenn isn't the elite defensive forward from Philly, that is Couturier. It's either that people have the two mixed up or they are rating Schenn based off of 1 season (2017-2018) instead of either his entire career or the last couple including this year in which he's been poor.
