And trading Saad for two bums is an even dumber concept. Saad has scored more at even strength than everyone on the Pens that isnt Sid, Malkin, Kessel, and Guentzal. Pearson has been garbage since 2014 and is on pace for 16 pts while ZAR is a nobody bottom 6'er. Comparing Saad to lucic is a pretty good testament to your lack of hockey knowledge here tbh. Would never do Saad for Pearson and ZAR straight up two awful players for much much better player

Hard pass as the pens. You speak of injury prone Murray but how many games has Crawford played this last year and this year? Pearson has improved in every statistic with the pens since being traded and ZAR is a solid role player. While Saad has been good he isnt future 10+ year starter, decent second liner and a role player good. Thats even if you throw in 1 year of a beat up crawford, and ignoring the cap situation in pittsburgh. Awful trade for the pens.

hard pass from the penguins. We don't want 34 year old Craford and we aren't giving up a young goalie who has been lights out in the playoffs for him.
Nor do we want to cough up Pearson and ZAR for Saad.
Pearson has been a decent player since coming over to the penguins. 4 goals in 17 games. That's 8 goals in 34 games if doubled. Saad has 9 goals in 33 games. The difference isn't worth ZAR.
On top of it, Saad is already playing with elite talent so that's about the best you are going to get out of him. Pearson is building chemistry and has room to improve.
