Kotkanemi,Lehkonen,Byron and Domi are safe

Haula or Puljujarvi will replace Armia on on the Lehkonen-Kotkanemi line . Armia's better suited at 4th line and can still help mentor Kotkanemi from there

Haula i wanted short term to help Kotkanemi and Lehkonnen .

Puljujarvi could work out on an all Finnish line longterm being in AL and KK's age group

We could really use Puljujarvi but I don't get why we need Haula. Anyways, Puljujarvi will probably cost the Canadiens 2019 1st round pick and Haula will probably cost Mike Reilly and the Canadiens 2019 2nd.

Makes sense. Having three Finnish forwards means they can speak Finnish on the ice, which should be easier on the younger ones. It's possible that borrowing Haula as a fourth, as someone who has completely adapted to playing successfully on a strong team without other Finnish speakers, gives Lehkonen and Kotkaniemi additional mentorship. It's also possible that the OP is pointing out that either one would make a line of three, in order to point out just that available supply is greater than demand.

You know that Gallagher has 9 goals since the beginning of the season and that your guy has 14 since the beginning of his career... that was 3 years ago!

Danault, Lindgren and a 2nd for a Guy that didn't proved yet to be able to play and be a great value in the NHL!? No way...

Don't see EDM giving him up any cheaper, though.

Haula's the cheapest Prospect from Finland available ho produce's regularly and could help Kotkanemi learn to win a faceoff .

Sampo Ranta from COL in the NCAA is who'd i would get if i thought we could free him from COL.
Puljujarvi is just the best option on RW available now as Ranta is 2 years out minimum (which also played into me bringing Haula into the fold to bridge the gap)

i agree with the volume of return but usually unproven prospects gets unproven prospects or veterans not skating centers in their mid 20's .

Shaw,Scherbak,Lindgren, and a 2nd for JP

Shaw as the Veteran piece in the mix @ 1.95m cap for 4 seasons
Scherbak a former 1st rounder also in need of a change in venue
Lindgren is our best goalie prospect he likely shoots to 1st or 2nd in the system within a year

True, Habs need a real center more than anything.
But may not be able to resist covering little Gall to 6'4" 208 lb Puli.
Adding Lucic 4 more would be sweet 2..-~

EDM can't really afford to take Shaw. Danault would be ideal 2C or 3C depending on whether they use Draisaitl as a winger or center.

Scherbak would probably be in the same situation than Puljujärvi is right now - namely stuck in between being a healthy scratch or a 3rd line winger. He might just end up being wasted value, and probably move to KHL after a season or two, like Slepyshev did.

Also you don't really need Lindgren. You're stuck with Price for the next half of decade. You might as well trade him now when he still have some value.

that was the point of Scherbak (29gp w/ 7pts ) going he's no more a write off then Puljujarvi (102gp w/ 29pts)
not a huge difference in production rate , neither have proven anything except they need a new system to play in

Jesse Puljujarvi isnt someone we'd be willing to over pay for as he has issues we're banking on being fixed by playing with Lehkonen -Kotkanemi .

Shaw is someone EDM Pursued along with MTL before he signed here as they've needed a bottom 6 leader .
EDM's much like DAL in the fact that if their top 2 lines dont produce they wont win.

that being said Shaw is just the old guy in the mix he wasnt suppose to be a selling point as Puljujarvi's value has gone down drastically since his coaches called him out publicly . (it happened to MTL with Chucky we only got 1 player in a straight up trade because we waited to long )

Out of curiousity, if you had to do a 1-on-1 trade with EDM regarding Puljujärvi, who would you realistically offer from your team?

as far as Center's goes MTL has none to spare , EDM has more C depth then we do .

what we do have is RD Prospects something EDM needs and doesnt have .
Brook or Fleury would thrive as Offensive D in EDM

thats a tough one i think Hudon because he's out produced JP on ever level .
he is someone who got drafted and over achieved getting more points in his rookie season then JP in 102 games thus far .

JP has issues that MTL may not be able to fix i am not giving up a Byron or a Domi because the Scouts over hyped Puljujarvi

Actually EDM has quite much RD prospects. Bear, Bouchard, Persson and even Benning can be thought as a prospect, still has some room for development.

What they need is wingers.

Hudon might not be enough. Puljujärvi is a TOP5 pick and has still some potential. EDM is just wrong place for him to be.

Come to think of hit, every single winger EDM has drafted in the first round in 2010s has either left the team or become bust. 2010 Hall (left the team), 2012 Yakupov (left the team AND is a bust)... 2016 Puljujärvi is a risk of being a bust... Other players they've drafted in 2010s are either centers or d-men. That organisation just can't make good wingers laugh

Hudon and Scherbak for Puljujarvi then ?

Hudon's done more then JP in his rookie season alone .
Scherbak's just under the same rate of production as JP and also a former 1st rounder.
that would give EDM depth on wing as well as a solid PK guy in Hudon who's consistently one of our best 2 way forwards .

i am sure he wouldnt be enough 1 for 1

maybe MTL makes a deal to bundle , maybe then just sell WSH Scherbak in bundle for Burakovsky who would play well with Drisatl as he also speaks German.

this way EDM gets Burakovsky a young winger and we'll throw in Hudon for Jesse Puljujarvi.
WSH gets Scherbak a young russian RW i think will play well with OVI like he did Galchenyuk and likely a 2nd or 3rd pick for the ever Struggling Burakovsky .
WSH gets a prospect to replace AB now and a 2nd or 3rd pick so they get a chance at re-stocking their depleted depth ranks .

Puljujärvi had rough rookie season to be fair. I think when an 18-year-old who moves abroad, hasn't been virtually in any school and doesn't know the language would have tougher time than a local prospects.
Add this up with the fact EDM has so bad history with their winger prospects and I'm not really that surprised that Puljujärvi has had so tough time.
